    A pillar of the path

    Dhikr

Dhikr is one pillar of the Prophetic triad (dhikr, tazkiyah and ṣilah); by it the murid tends his heart until the soul regains its station.

Weekly and bi-weekly men's and women's gatherings are held in the Center's branches for the dhikr and the awrād of the Prophetic Approach, where the murids gather in circles of remembrance to steady the heart and keep to the wird.

For the people of this approach, dhikr is a pillar within the triad of dhikr, tazkiyah and ṣilah — «Indeed, whoever purifies himself succeeds, and remembers the name of his Lord and prays» — by which the soul regains its station and the inner faculties find balance.

The Sheikh tends the states of the murids directly through framing, guidance and direction, holding weekly lessons, awareness circles and educational retreats (khalawāt) that help the seeker overcome the obstacles of dhikr and tazkiyah.
